Celebrating Caroline - Day 4

Memory #4: Singing to Our Baby Girl

I can sing.

Doug can't.

Don't worry, I'm not hurting his feelings by saying this.

It's a fact.

The sad thing is that I'm a music teacher and I can't teach my own husband to sing.  LOL

Even though everyone in our household can't carry a tune, everyone really likes to make a "joyful noise unto the Lord".

And we LOVED to sing to Caroline.

We sang "Happy Birthday" to her every single day.

And Doug wrote a song just for her that he sang to her every day.

I had him record himself singing it so that we would never forget it.

"Caroline's Song":

I love you, Caroline.
I love you, Caroline.
I love you, Caroline.
I love you a lot.

Mama loves you, Caroline.
Mama loves you, Caroline.
Mama loves you, Caroline.
She loves you a lot.

Benaiah loves you, Caroline.
Benaiah loves you, Caroline.
Benaiah loves you, Caroline.
He loves you a lot.

Jesus loves you, Caroline.
Jesus loves you, Caroline.
Jesus loves you, Caroline.
He loves you a lot.

My song of choice was always "Jesus Lover of My Soul".

I sang this to her often.

Doug and I sang this to her as she went to be with Jesus.

And we also sang this at her Celebration of Life service.

"Jesus Lover of My Soul"

Jesus, lover of my soul
All consuming fire is in your gaze
Jesus, I want You to know
That I will follow You all of my days
No one else in history is like You
And history itself belongs to You
Alpha and Omega, You have loved me
And I will share Eternity with You

It's all about You, Jesus
And all this is for You
For your glory and your fame
It's not about me
As if You should do things my way
You alone are God and I surrender
To your ways

The Balloon Project #4:

Kristin, Gary and Isaac love you, Caroline!!!

Isaac clearly gained his Mama's ability to close his eyes at the exact moment a picture is being taken - HA!

(And Happy Birthday, Kristin!)
